Burning River is more than a sports league. We are a community organization that regularly partners with and supports other nonprofit organizations across Greater Cleveland. Our skaters, officials, volunteers, and supporters proudly represent the city we love. From skaters and referees to officials and volunteers, Burning River is a diverse collective united by a passion for roller derby and for Cleveland.
Through community partnerships, charity bouts, and youth outreach, we extend the values of roller derby—resilience, inclusivity, and mutual support—far beyond the track.
Our competitive A-team competes in WFTDA-sanctioned bouts against teams across the country. The All-Stars represent the highest level of play in our league.
Our intermediate B-team develops skilled skaters through competitive play. The HazMat Crew builds the experience and teamwork that prepares skaters for the All-Stars.
Our development team welcomes skaters who have completed the Skater Tots program. The Pyromaniacs focus on building fundamental skills in a supportive competitive environment.
What we do wouldn't be possible without our dedicated officials and volunteers.
Whether you're a seasoned skater or brand new to derby, we'd love to meet you.
